Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers notice something specific about concert listening or culture. Send your proposal through the Contact page, selecting the editorial question option and including enough detail for us to understand the idea.
Ideas that fit
We are interested in clear explanations of musical choices, focused comparisons, well-framed histories, careful examinations of common assumptions and useful approaches to a particular concert setting or occasion. A strong pitch has a defined subject, a distinct angle and a reason a general reader might care. It should add something beyond a list of facts or a broad claim about music.
What to include
Tell us the proposed subject, the central question, the main points the piece would cover and the reader takeaway. Explain what experience or knowledge informs your approach, and flag any sources or permissions the idea would require. A concise proposal is more useful than a finished article sent without context. Do not send confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.
Before you send
We look for accurate, original work in a measured voice. Avoid unsupported claims, disguised promotion and pitches that depend on access or firsthand reporting not yet arranged. Use the Contact page to send proposals; selecting a form category helps us understand what you are writing about. A proposal is not a promise of publication.
